Chatelaillon is the ideal resort to introduce children to the pleasures of water. Baby swimmers, little sailors or teenage sailors, the resort offers many water activities adapted to all ages and supervised by professionals. So, would you prefer an introduction to catamaran sailing or a sailing course for children?

    Swimming lessons on the beach


    Before you sail, you start by learning to swim! The sailing course for children, it is not for immediately. In July and August, the city installs on its beach a swimming pool dedicated to toddlers to allow them a first gentle contact with the water.

    While mom is having fun with friends at the Zumba class, it’s Cathy, a certified lifeguard who takes over! She teaches the first steps of swimming to beginners, or the crawl technique for the older ones. Registration at the Aquatic Center!

    For 5-7 year olds: the little sailors

    Optimist course

    The optimist, do you know it? This small boat designed for the initiation of young sailors is a must when summer comes. If its name gives a smile, so does its practice!

    From 5 years old, head to the Rosière pond behind the Thalasso Center for a first sailing course for children. Supervised and equipped, the participants discover their first nautical sensations, while learning the rudiments of navigation.

    They try to find their balance, understand the direction of the wind and have fun with their friends.

      From 6 years old : the budding sailors

      The Optimist Course

      After the initiation, the training course! From 6 years old we take to the sea like grown-ups. Thanks to its hull the optimist can’t capsize, and that’s pretty cool. The first departures are made in group from the calm zone of the Marina… to better dash towards the horizon at the end of the course! All this under the benevolent eye of a qualified instructor.

      Ask for 3 to 5 days of training, 2 hours per day.

      From 14 years old : the freshwater sailors

      Two fresh and stylish activities for teens.

      • The catamaran raid in the summer on Sundays

      • Surfing. Opt for a 3-5 day course with 2 hours per day to learn the basics of windsurfing. Autonomy guaranteed after 5 days!

        Have you followed everything? After the sailing course for children, we go to the next level with the catamaran course.

        This famous boat with two hulls, including the famous Hobie Cat 16 model and its banana structure, requires a little more bottle … On the program of this demanding initiation: dexterity, new reflexes, sense of wind and marine knots. Hoist it high!

        Radio controlled sail

        Eager to get out on the water without getting wet?

        We meet on the bank of the Etang de la Rosière for a radio-controlled sailing course. We discover the first techniques of navigation, we develop strategies and we quickly get into the game!
