We’ll see you there for some lovely gift ideas, an advent calendar and some great surprises.

When December approaches, the châtelaillonnais are busy, the end of year celebrations are approaching. And as with everything else in the year, the party is not an empty word here. The lights invade the city brought by the lanterns of the small Lucie châtelaillonnaises. The shop windows are decorated with their most shimmering decorations. The Christmas market takes place in the heart of the city. The party can begin.

It begins with the sound and light show of the living crib where more than 80 châtelaillonnais put themselves on stage and ends with the first Bathing of the year where more than 500 crazy bathers throw themselves into the water!

Christmas Market

Cosmetic products made with donkey milk for grandma, wooden games for cousin Jules, a burnt wood weekly planner for Mathilde, the craftsmen and creators of Charente take place in the small white chalets and wait for you during 15 days to find the gift that will please. A hat for the winter, a necklace made by a Charente creator, Cognac, you are sure to find the ideal gift at the Christmas market in Chatelaillon

In the meantime, the children will take the traditional photo with Santa Claus or eat a chocolate waffle. And we wait patiently for the evening, to see the illuminations light up and bring this festive spirit of the end of the year that we like so much.

The end of year celebrations are my favorite time of year. When the city lights up, you can smell the hot chocolate and the windows are decorated with a thousand colors.

Sound and light show of the living crib

    It has become the big meeting of the châtelaillonnais. A few days before Christmas, more than 80 volunteers dress up and play the role of shepherd, king or angel.
    It is the beautiful story of the nativity which is told on the square of the church.

    Illuminated facade, singing, dancing, live animals, enter the magic of Christmas.

    It's the first swim of the year

    It has become a châtelaillonnaise institution! At the end of December, more than 500 courageous people face the cold and go for the last swim of the year!

    We choose our costume for the occasion, we warm up with the super Claudie and we jump in. That the water is cold but it is not serious we shall return next year.

    The magic of Christmas

    In December, the Christmas spirit invades the city of Chatelaillon-Plage. Christmas market, living crib show, swimming of the banquisards, animations for young and old all along this festive month!
